Announced at the 2015 Musikmesse Show in Frankfurt, Germany, sE's first production run of the new guitaRF® filter is now leaving the sE factory in Shanghai.
The guitaRF - pronounced "guitar-EFF", and the latest member of sE's acclaimed Reflexion Filter® series - was developed after sE saw many of their front of house engineers and studio clients using other Reflexion Filters in front of their guitar cabinets for mic isolation and a more forward, "up-front" sound.
These RFs can be seen on stage with artists ranging from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers to Paramore to My Morning Jacket.
The guitaRF features a pass-through hole for a dynamic / small capsule mic and mounting hardware for a large-diaphragm condenser or ribbon microphone. This hardware allows for precise positioning of the mic capsules relative to one another, to maintain phase coherence or spread the mics apart for various guitar tones.
The included base stand slides underneath a guitar or bass amp cabinet, allowing for the mic and filter assembly to be pressed up against the grill for close-miking. Alternatively, the entire assembly can be removed from the base and mounted on any standard mic stand.
The guitaRF retails for $249 MSRP with a street price of $199 USD. To find one near you, please contact your local distributor.
