Highlights: Winter NAMM 2018

We had a fantastic NAMM Show in sunny Southern California last week - check out some highlights below.

The sE / Rupert Neve RNT was finally launched to much acclaim! Composer / Producer and sE Artist Simon Franglen ('Avatar', 'Titanic', Celine Dion, Michael Jackson) is one of the first people in the world to actually own and use one - and at the show, we were able to get him on camera to tell us how he feels about it.

Many of our global distributors received awards from sE for their performance in sales, marketing, social media, and more. Winners included PM Plus (Russia), Fingerprint Audio (North & South America), GSB Pro Audio (Brazil), Hook Up (Japan), Focusrite (UK), Sound & Music (Australia), and others!

Before the show even started, we co-hosted a party at Kingsize Soundlabs in Los Angeles. The party was also sponsored by Rupert Neve Designs, Reverb.com, Earthquaker Devices, Overstayer, and Coil Audio. Here's the RNT in Studio A.

Mr. Billy Gibbons himself was on the booth...sort of. Here he is with his Signature V7 BFG dynamic microphone.

One of our booth visitors was R&B singer Eric Benét (R), holding a V7 microphone with our Brand Manager Chris Dauray (L).

This bearded gentleman is Jason Frankhouser, FOH Engineer for Bob Dylan. He loves all his sE gear.

One of our personal highlights was getting to see the legendary Jackson Browne and his legendary band (The Section) perform at the TEC Awards on Saturday night.

Last but not least, here's Mr. Bacon showing off our special cutaway RNT. Best booth presenter ever.

Thanks for a great show, everyone!

sE Electronics and Rupert Neve Designs Announce The RNT, A New Flagship Multi-Pattern Tube Condenser

sE Electronics is extremely proud to announce the RNT, a premium large-diaphragm multi-pattern tube condenser microphone created in collaboration with Rupert Neve Designs. “All in all, the RNT brings the larger-than-life sounds of classic tube mics into the modern age with greater depth and clarity than ever before.”

The RNT is the third microphone in the collaboration between sE Electronics and Rupert Neve Designs, founded by the legendary audio designer Mr. Rupert Neve. “Much like the RNR1 Active Ribbon and RN17 Small-Diaphragm Condenser, the RNT is something truly special, developed over several years of careful listening and measurement by Mr. Rupert Neve, Mr. Siwei Zou, and the engineering teams from both companies.”

“The partnership between sE Electronics and Rupert Neve Designs is an extension of the great friendship between the two founders. This elegantly different tube microphone design was one of the first concepts they originally discussed long ago - and after many years in development, we are exceptionally proud to see it brought to life.”

sE Electronics Announces Special Billy Gibbons Signature Edition V7 BFG Dynamic Microphone

New for the 2018 Winter NAMM Show, sE Electronics is extremely proud to announce the V7 BFG: a special chrome Signature Edition of sE’s acclaimed TEC-Award-nominated V7 dynamic microphone, created in partnership with Mr. Billy F. Gibbons - best known as the guitarist of ZZ Top.

From Mr. Billy F. Gibbons: “The V7 in a word? Perfectamundo!” The V7 BFG is the signature vocal microphone for the one and only Billy F. Gibbons. Best known as the guitarist and lead vocalist of the legendary American rock band ZZ Top, Billy Gibbons consistently ranks as one of the greatest guitarists of all time. From sE: “This Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame inductee and iconic blues-rock guitarist from Texas has been performing on the road for decades, and is still musically hyper-active with The Kings of Chaos, the BFG’s and – last but definitely not least - ZZ Top!”

The V7 BFG is a dynamic vocal hand-held microphone with a supercardioid polar pattern, delivering “a crisp, open sound that perfectly captures your voice in the most natural way you've ever heard on stage.” The sophisticated capsule design helps isolate the singer’s voice from other instruments, ensuring vast amounts of gain before feedback, and its brand new, patented shock mount efficiently decouples the capsule from mechanical vibration, providing the lowest handling noise in its class.

Featuring a special custom chrome finish & royal purple internal windscreen, the V7 BFG ships standard with a mic clip and thread adapter, leatherette pouch, microfiber polishing cloth, a V7 BFG sticker, two BFG Signature Jim Dunlop custom gel guitar picks, and a spare black internal windscreen.

The V7 BFG will be shown at the 2018 Winter NAMM show on booth #15903, and is now shipping worldwide with an MSRP of $149 USD / €139 EUR.
